Our Muay Thai Program in 2010

Since we began our Muay Thai Kickboxing program about a 18 months ago, we have seen it grow very quickly; Tuesday’s class might be the most popular in Crazy 88′s whole class schedule.  Just recently we had our second round of Muay Thai Smoker fights where the team went 3-0 (the last time we went 1-1-1).  Coach Jason Farrell is doing a great job with the program.

The Muay Thai program consistns of 3 different levels (just like the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program).  You have the Basic level which is the Womens Only Kickboxing class and the Basic Thai Boxing class, then the Advanced (“Gold”) program, and finally the Fighter training program.  The Advanced and Fighter classes are invite-only since a certain amount of skill is required before jumping into these classes.

In the overall world of Muay Thai, we are still babies so 2010 will be the year of building up more competitors in the Kickboxing.  I’ve already sat down with Jon and Tye, and they will be getting some more standup fights before this time next year (Jon made his *debut* at the Muay Thai Nationals – LOL).   My goal is to have about 4-5 more people get debuts and get 2-3 guys ready for the Muay Thai Nationals and maybe a pro fight by years end.

Should be exciting.
