As a continuation of the last post, what are the best BJJ instructionals? Here are a few of the best ones I have seen…

Andre Galvao Seminar in Japan. This is not his recently released series but a professional recording of Galvao teaching in Japan. He goes over a few techniques and then rolls with everyone in the class. Lots of good material on here.

Robson Moura Fusion 2. I felt this was a stronger series than his first one. A few of my students told me the half-guard portion was very helpful as well as the first disk on 93 guard. Probably a bit advanced for a total beginner.

Saulo Ribeiro Jiu Jitsu Revolution. Probably the best DVD instructional series on the market. I would recommend every BJJ student out there get this one. I saw this when I was a late purple and I still picked up a lot of details. No attribute-based techniques here – fat, skinny, flexible, old, anyone can do them.

Mike Fowler Seminar. This is the best of the Lloyd Irvin Instructional videos out there (note: I have not seen Ryan Hall’s Triangle or No-Gi Made Easy yet). I liked this one because these are the exact same movements that Mike had been doing to me in practice and it was interesting to see them taught. A few of them made it over to Hafa Adai but the teaching here was more in-depth. Also, it was funny to see Josh Plaschkes get called to task for not bringing a notebook to class (clip found on www.bjjengineer.com).
